How to Lose Weight on Business Trips: 7 Tips You Must Know!
Many people claim that business trips are pitfalls for losing
weight. But still, some people love travelling for work while others
just abide the business trips they have to make. Even with the many
methods of communication available today, there are times when you have
to show up in person to get the job done.
Being alone in a strange city can lead to time spent lounging and watching television instead of doing anything constructive to lose beer belly.
Anything you do regularly is generally based on the location where you are. Humans are creatures of habit, but when the landscape changes, we often use this as an excuse to deviate from our normal activities.
Some ideas you should consider in how to get slim while on business trips include:
1. Avoid the airport fast food - Airports are mostly full of fast food restaurants and very little healthy meal choices. Avoid falling into the airport fast food trap by eating a healthy protein dominant meal before arriving at the airport. If you are expecting to have a long layover, bring a healthy snack pack that consists of nuts or trail mixes and an apple. Also, keep yourself properly hydrated lest your body interprets thirst for hunger.
2. Change your mentality - Many people feel that they are on vacation mode once they are at the airport. And if they are on vacation, they are allowed to cheat on their fat loss program. Do not allow yourself to use that as an excuse and continue to stick to your routine as much as possible. If your job requires you to travel on a regular basis, all the more you need to be committed to your fat loss program.
3. Walk instead of ride - Staying in a hotel with a restaurant inside it generally means that you eat in and stay in. Finding a hotel in a safe neighborhood allows for strolling a few blocks to eat and provides calorie burning exercise both to and from the restaurant. That's much better than just riding the elevator.
4. Ask for accommodations with an exercise room - You are more likely to exercise if you have actual equipment supplied for that purpose. Even in smaller cities, it is usually possible to find hotels with this feature, and you know exercise to reduce tummy inches is a necessity.
5. Avoid room service - As tempting as it might be, do not call for food to be brought to your door. A long day might make it tempting to indulge, but fight the urge. Force yourself to walk to get meals. Hotel staff can make recommendations of places for you to dine located within reasonable walking distance.
6. Arrange for healthy snacks for the day - I was once on the road with a sales person for the whole day and we got so hungry that we just went to the nearest petrol kiosk and bought lots of potato chips and chocolates. When you are that hungry, all considerations for health goes out the window. That is definitely not the quickest way to lose weight. So if you are going to be on the road most of the day, make arrangements with the hotel to pack some healthy snacks and fruit for you on the go so you'll never have to be in a situation to make impulsive and stupid meal decisions.
7. Get in bed early - It is standard for business people to have later bed times when away from home because their cycle is altered. If you get in bed early, you should be able to get up earlier in the morning. Perhaps you will have time to do some exercise before breakfast and start your day off right.
When traveling for business, plan some enjoyable activities that require more effort than just sitting and watching television. Try to ensure that you get twenty minutes or more of exercise every day you are away.
